Children's Programs
The Camden Twp. Library offers 2 Summer Reading Programs for Kids:
Early Reader Program (Kindergarten & Younger)
Children's Program (1st - 6th Grade)
Both programs follow the same basic ways to earn prizes. The first step is to get signed up. Stop in at the Camden Twp. Library to get started.
How to earn prizes:
Reading Logs
Complete any 3-in-a-row to earn a Level 1 Prize
Complete all 9 to earn a Level 2 Prize
You can complete as many reading logs as you want
Final day to turn in reading logs for Level 1 or 2 prizes is Sat. Aug. 26
Grand Prize
This year, we will be giving away a Grand Prize for each level of Summer Reading. Thanks to the McDonald's Company of Branch & Hillsdale Counties, our Children's Program Grand Prize will be a Bicycle! Your name will be entered into our Grand Prize Drawing for every fully completed reading log turned in (all 9 completed).
Daily Scavenger Hunt
Each day we are open, you can play our Daily Scavenger Hunt & earn a prize.
Draw a scavenger hunt slip - it will tell you what type of book to find. Find a book to match, bring the book and the slip back to the circulation desk & you will earn a prize.
Early Readers get to choose pink scavenger hunt slips that are a little easier.
Children choose green scavenger hunt slips - but don't worry, none are really hard. We will help you if you get stumped after trying to find a match.
Limit one scavenger hunt per child per day.
TinCaps Bonus Program
Earn a Free Ticket to a Fort Wayne TinCaps Baseball Game! Read 400 hundred pages to earn your Free Ticket. This program is open to all children aged 2 years old through 12th grade. Note: pages read for the TinCaps Bonus Program CANNOT be recorded on the Camden Twp. Library reading log - they must be separate. Final day to turn in TinCaps logs is July 31, 2017.
Special Events
You can earn an extra prize just by signing up to attend our special events. You can sign up at the Camden Twp. Library or online through our P.U.L.S.E. calendar right here on our website. If you sign up by the day before an event, you will receive a prize when you attend the event.
