Park & Read Program

Michigan Departmen of Natural Resources has partnered with Library of Michigan, Macy’s and The Hammock Company to bring Michigan Library Patrons a great program called “Park & Read”.

Park & Read offers Michigan library patrons a free pass to many great Michigan State Parks and Recreation Areas just for checking out books at their participating libraries.  Some of these parks will even have hammocks available only to Park & Read pass holders.

Camden Twp. Library is excited to be part of this great program.  What could be better than relaxing at one of Michigan’s great state parks with your favorite library book - FOR FREE!

To receive your pass - just stop in and check out a book or two.  Ask for a pass and we will give you one.  but please note: Your free pass is only good for 7 days after you receive it, so be sure to plan your trip ahead of time.

Free Resources through MeL

If you haven’t checked out the Michigan Electronic Library at www.mel.org , you are missing out on a ton of great resources.  These are all free to Michigan Residents and can be accessed from any computer.  (You will need to enter your MI driver’s license number as proof that you are a MI resident.) The Camden Twp. Library is also registered with the Michigan Electronic Library, so you can access MeL through our webpage.  The MeL Databases include great student helps, book reviews, genealogy information, Chilton online, and practice tests for things like GED or Fire Fighter (and many more).  That’s just a small sample of what MeL offers!

MeLCat is our State-wide Interlibrary Loan Program.  This is free to patrons in good standing at the Camden Twp. Library.  You can borrow items from across our great state from any computer - we are connected to over 300 Michigan libraries including: Public Libraries, School Libraries & College Libraries.  If you haven’t tried MeLCat yet, stop in and let us show you how simple Interlibrary Loaning can be - you will be “ILLing” on your own in no time!

World Book Online

The Camden Twp. Library is happy to announce our new subscription to World Book Online Library Edition.  This collection of databases is an excellent reference source for all your information needs.  Our subscription includes: World Book Kids, World Book Student and World Book Spanish Edition.
