Autumn is here!

Autumn has arrived with very chilly temperatures. Somewhere along the way, we went from summer temperatures straight to winter! Gotta love Michigan weather!!
Our Summer Reading Programs were huge successes. Thanks to all who participated.
Now that summer is over, you would think that here at the library, we wouldn’t be as busy - Wrong! While our programs are down to our 2 storytimes, our staff is busy with lots of projects. I started an inventory that took all of September to complete. We are working on fixing mistakes in our cataloging and readjusting our spine labels so that patrons can find their materials easier. I’m also getting ready to begin school visits again. From Nov. - May, I usually visit Camden-Frontier Schools to read to almost every class from Preschoo through 8th grade. And on top of that, its State Aid reporting time! Although our state aid is in question with the state budget, public libraries are required to submit a 21 part state aid report. This report covers everything about our library - from staff & board members to hours open; from services & programs we offer to the number of items we have on our shelves.
We are also gearing up for our next American Girl Party - thats coming up on April 17th. This time, we will feature the newest Historical doll - Rebecca Rubin, a Jewish-Russian immigrant from 1914. Watch for details soon!
